Com Hem to shut down analogue TV service on 08 September

Swedish operator Com Hem Said it it will cease providing analogue TV on 08 September. It said about 70 percent of the 1.6 million homes affected already watch digital television. Those who still watch analogue TV will need to re-tune via channel search or changing their settings.

Com Hem said going fully digital will provide images and audio to viewers and enable a competitive basic supply of channels to watch on their television set, or by streaming Comhem Play on their tablet or mobile telephone. The analogue switch-off also releases capacity for faster broadband on its network, said Samuel Skott, head of commercial affairs at the operator.

The Tele2 group arm said its new digital basic range of subscription-free channels will be SVT1, SVT2, SVT24, SVT Barn, Kunskapskanalen, TV3, TV4, Kanal 5, TV6, Sjuan, TV8, TV9, TV11, ATG Live and local channels, as well as Finnish, Danish and Norwegian TV, depending on location. Most of these channels will also be accessible throughout the EU through Comhem Play, as well as via ChromeCast or Airplay.
