Comcast reaches 4 Gbps with Full Duplex chip

Friday 23 April 2021 | 12:45 CET | News
Comcast announced what it says is another 10G technical milestone, conducting the first live lab test of the Full Duplex DOCSIS system-on-chip (SOC) device, expected to pave the way for Comcast to deliver multigigabit upload and download speeds over its hybrid-fiber coaxial (HFC) network. In the test environment, the research team demonstrated the ability of the SOC to deliver upstream and downstream throughputs of greater than 4 Gbps. Future optimisation is expected to drive even greater capacity.
