Companies launch website against Google search practices

Yelp, TripAdvisor and their allies launched a new website, Focus on the User, to convince European antitrust officials to compel Google to stop taking advantage of its overwhelming market share and tweak its algorithm to disadvantage rivals by pushing users to see its own products first, according to online publication Recode.net. Among the other companies involved in this project are German health advertising portal Jameda and the Swiss travel site HolidayCheck, as well as a few consumer groups such as Consumer Watchdog and Fight for the Future. The new website explains the reasons behind
