Competition Authority approves Poste Mobile merger

Monday 31 January 2011 | 08:34 CET | News
France's Competition Authority has approved the creation of La Poste and SFR of Poste Telecom, a new MVNO that will emerge from SFR subsidiary Debitel. The new company will offer a range of mobile services to consumers and business customers from post office branches nationwide. The antitrust body found no risk to competition from the move, as La Poste has so far played a small role in the mobile phone sector. Debitel France is a 40 percent SFR subsidiary owning the Simplicime and Mobisud MVNO brands.
