Competition Commission says MTN South Africa data price cuts were unilateral

Tuesday 24 March 2020 | 10:09 CET | News
The Competition Commission (CompCom) has distanced itself from MTN South Africa's data cost reduction proposal announced on 20 March, saying it was a "unilateral commercial response", ITWeb reported. The watchdog says there is no agreement with MTN. On 20 March, the operator announced a reduction on its monthly bundles of 1 GB and below by between 25-50 percent, and the 1 GB monthly bundle will decrease by 33 percent to ZAR 99.
