Connected energy market will be worth USD 26 bln in 2026 - study

Mobile operators deploying new IoT networks will be able to benefit from an European connected energy market that could be worth USD 26 billion by 2026, GSMA said, citing a study by Machine Research. The emerging connected energy market is expected to connect 158 million new smart meters on Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWA) networks across Europe. The total number of connections in Europe could go higher if the 60 million mobile connections are also included with LPWA.
