Consumer group sues Free Mobile over service quality

Thursday 17 January 2013 | 12:18 CET | News
French consumer association UFC-Que Choisir has filed a lawsuit against Free Mobile for allegedly misleading customers about the ability of its 3G service to carry video of an acceptable quality. The body took action after receiving numerous complaints and regulator Arcep adding a requirement for operators to submit regular audits of mobile QoS last autumn. Independent research found that at over 2 kbps, Free Mobile customers roaming on Orange's network experience a failure rate of 78 percent of YouTube and 88 percent on Dailymotion.
