Consumer union demands 2 years of updates for Android phones

Wednesday 17 February 2016 | 10:58 CET | News

The Consumentenbond said smartphones should receive updates for at least two years after purchase, and Samsung should also better inform customers about its updates policy. In a hearing on 16 February, Samsung claimed that it wasn't realistic to extend support for the devices, Nu.nl reported. However, it did consider a period of two years after the launch of the phone possible.
