Consumers back EC proposal to limit geo-blocking

The European Commission announced the preliminary results of its public consultation on proposals to limit geoblocking of digital content in the EU. The consultation ended in December and attracted 430 responses, mainly from consumers and consumer groups (251 responses), as well as 78 business organisations and 58 companies. A total 13 countries responded. While the EC is still evaluating all the responses, its preliminary inventory found that 90 percent of the consumer responses support the idea that consumers and businesses should be able to purchase and access services anywhere in the EU
