Consumers union calls for more info about smartphone updates

Tuesday 10 May 2016 | 11:08 CET | News
The Dutch consumers union has called for more transparency from Android smartphone makers about how long they continue to update their devices. A survey of the manufacturer's websites by the Consumentenbond found that most are unclear about how long they will continue to support their phones with software updates. None of them guarantee updates. The union said smartphone makers should be more clear about this to help consumers make more informed choices about their purchases.
