Consumers union warns Android phones behind on updates

Relatively recent Android smartphones are no longer receiving updates, warned the Dutch consumers unions. Many models from 2013-2015 are no longer supported with the latest software, and this could create a security risk, the group said. Of the 171 handsets tested by the Consumentenbond in the past two years, 84 percent have not been updated to Android 5.0. Half are still on Android 4.3 or older, despite known security vulnerabilities in these versions of the OS. Motorola has updated most of its phones, Huawei much less.
