Consumers want protection standards to be clear - ETNO

European consumers largely (77%) believe ISPs should be legally required to inform them about personal data breaches, while few (12%) understand the mechanism of protection standards concerning the use of their personal data, according to a study by industry lobby group ETNO (European Telecom Network Operators) and research bureau ComRes. The study looked at the digital habits and expectations of Europeans in nine major EU markets. It comes as the European Commission launches a wide-ranging consultation with a view to reforming the rules on telecom markets. ETNO said it believes protection
