Contactless takes 12% of Dutch card payments in January

The share of Dutch bank payment cards that support contactless transactions has increased to 62 percent, and 40 percent of payment terminals support contactless, according to the Dutch central bank (DNB). The convenience of contactless payments is seeing the method quickly increase in popularity and already in January this year 12 percent of all card payments were contactless. This is equal to around 20 million contactless transactions in the month.
