Coopmans to leave KPN in 2012

Baptiest Coopmans is leaving KPN for another job. After five years on the board of management, he will leave the company in April next year. He was named head of the Dutch operator's consumer division in 2006 and in early 2010 became head of the entire Dutch operation. Earlier this year he was put in charge of the restructuring of the Dutch operations and a new focus on improving service quality and branding. He had been thought to be a candidate for CEO at KPN, but missed out on the job to Eelco Blok, who took over in April. KPN said Coopmans is leaving by "mutual agreement" with the supervisory board. He will receive one year of salary (EUR 590,000), as well as any short- or long-term incentives achieved based on previously set targets for 2011.
