Cosmote expands 5G network to half of population

Cosmote achieved its 5G network population coverage goal for 2021, exceeding 50 percent of the Greek territory. The network is covers 29 cities and islands, with the population coverage exceeding 90 percent in Athens and Thessaloniki. The company's new end-2021 target for nationwide coverage is 60 percent. 

Cosmote said it continues the 5G network expansion at a steady pace throughout the country. The service can be enjoyed by residents and visitors in Heraklion, Crete, Porto Heli, Argolida, Santorini, Amorgos, Koufonisia and Sikinos, as well as on the islands of the Saronic Gulf (Salamina, Aegina, Aegina, and Hook). In addition, Cosmote subscribers can enjoy 5G on the National Road Amfilochia - Ioannina. 

Since the end of 2020, it's already available in Thessaly in Volos, Karditsa, Larissa, Trikala, in Epirus in Ioannina and Igoumenitsa, in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace in Drama, Kavala, Xanthi, in Central Macedonia in Giannitsa, Naoussa, Sausage and in Mytilene of Lesvos. In Q1 2021, Patras and Corfu were added.

All Cosmote subscribers, individuals and companies, who have a 5G device certified in the Cosmote network can access the Cosmote 5G network, without any additional charge and regardless of their tariff (contract, card contract, prepaid).
