Cosmote launches 4G smartphones
Greek operator Cosmote launched commercial LTE services for internet access via a mobile phone. Cosmote offers three smartphones to support 4G connections: the Samsung Galaxy SIII 4G, Samsung Galaxy Note II 4G and LG Optimus HD 4G. The service is available to all subscribers with data plans until 31 March. From 01 April, 4G services will be available via specific 4G data plans for prepaid and postpaid customers. Cosmote's 4G network is already available to 4G tablets and USB sticks since 15 November. The Cosmote 4G network is currently available in Athens and Thessaloniki and will gradually expand to other cities in the country.

Vodafone Greece adds LG Optimus G to offer

Vodafone Greece started selling LG's new flagship smartphone LG Optimus G. Powered by Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 OS, the smartphone is available from Vodafone Greece without any contractual obligation at EUR 599 or even cheaper along with a subscription for one of the operator's tariff plans. OTE net profit down 43% in Q4 on redundancy costs

Greek operator OTE reported fourth-quarter net profit down 43 percent to EUR 43.7 million, hurt by a one-time charge of EUR 123 million for a voluntary redundancy programme. The loss of over 1,500 employees under the programme is expected to save the operator EUR 80 million a year. Cosmote launches LTE network in Athens, Thessaloniki

Cosmote Greece commercially launched its LTE mobile broadband network in Athens and Thessaloniki.
