Cosmote Greece commercially launched its LTE mobile broadband network in Athens and Thessaloniki. Cosmote's LTE network is available initially through LTE tablets and USB sticks to customers who subscribe to the new 'Cosmote Internet On The Go 20GB' tariff plan, and will also be available as an option with the existing 'Cosmote internet on the go' 5GB, 10GB, Student and 'Cosmote internet any way 5GB' plans.
Furthermore, prepaid subscribers will be able to access the LTE network through the new Cosmote '4G Full Pack'. The same goes for existing subscribers to Cosmote internet on the go connection packages, provided they acquire the appropriate LTE tablet or USB stick under the applicable pricing policy.
The new LTE network significantly improves customer experience by offering exponentially higher speeds of internet navigation, the use of advanced multimedia applications such as HD streaming and HD video-conferencing as well as the ability to send and receive large files. The speeds are such that, on average, users can download an HD movie in 2-3 minutes.
