Costa Rica telecom market up 4% to USD 693 mln in H1 2017

Costa Rica's telecommunications sector posted revenues amounting to CRC 394 billion (around USD 693 million) in the first half of 2017, reports local daily La Nacion, citing the latest data from regulator Sutel. The market was dominated by state-owned operator ICE, whose Kolbi mobile brand accounted for 52 percent of subscribers, down from 55 percent in H1 2016, followed by Movistar (Telefonica) with 25 percent, up 1 percent, and Claro (America Movil) with 22 percent, up 2 percent year on year.
