Court adjourns MTN Nigeria tax dispute case until 19 October

Thursday 27 June 2019 | 10:58 CET | News
MTN Group said its USD 2 billion tax dispute lawsuit with the government of Nigeria has been adjourned until 19 October. Abubakar Malami, attorney general of Nigeria, on behalf of president Muhammadu Buhari's government, had demanded that MTN should pay the USD 2 billion in September 2018. MTN claimed that the request for the tax money was without merit, accusing the attorney general of exceeding his powers in making the request.
