Court confirms stance against Oi-Anatel fine agreement

Brazil's Court of Audit (TCU) has confirmed its opposition to the agreement signed between the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) and Oi that would allow the operator, currently in bankruptcy proceedings, to exchange its BRL 1.2 billion in regulatory fines for investment commitments. However, the court did not consider the merits of the case. The final decision on the matter was postponed until issues related to fines under the bankruptcy process of Oi are resolved.
