Court finds against Telekom Deutschland over nuisance calls

Tuesday 4 July 2017 | 13:06 CET | News
German consumer federation VZBZ said that the Higher Regional Court in Cologne (OLG Koln) has prohibited telecoms companies from using contract details for promotional material or calls to old customers. This follows a complaint by the VZBZ against Telekom Deutschland. Customers signing up for a service online were invited to agree to the company using their details for "individual consultations" for a year after their contract ended, to inform them of tailored offers via e-mail, phone, text or MMS.
