Court orders KT stop 2G network shutdown
South Korean communications firm KT has been forced to continue providing 2G mobile services. The Seoul Administrative Court stopped KT's plan to shut down the 2G service on 8 December, news agency Yonhap writes. In November, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) approved a plan by the operator to terminate the 2G service. However, around 900 subscribers launched a case to stop the termination with the Seoul Administrative Court and the court accepted the request. The KCC's decision to approve the termination has been suspended until the court rules on the matter. A date has net yet been set. KT did not comment.
