Thailand to shut down 2G services on 31 October

Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has approved the shutdown of 2G mobile phone services on 31 October this year, Bangkok Post reports, citing NBTC secretary-general Takorn Tantasith. According to Tantasith, the NBTC board resolved to shut down the 2G mobile service on 31 October, as proposed by the country's three major mobile operators AIS, Dtac TriNet and True Move H Universal Communication.
