Court rules Sony not well-known brand in Kenya

The quest by Sony of Japan to protect its trade name in Kenya has suffered a setback after the High Court ruled that it is not a well-known brand in the country, reports Business Daily. Justice Francis Tuiyot made the findings in a suit that Sony had filed against owners of the Westgate Mall shopping centre, seeking to retain exclusive rights to the "Sony" tag.
