Covid-19 crisis to hit telecom revenues this year - TIM CEO

The coronavirus crisis is set to prompt to a steeper decline in revenues in the telecommunications sector this year, according to the chief executive of Telecom Italia (TIM). During a teleconferenced parliamentary hearing, Luigi Gubitosi recognised that the industry is playing a key role during a government imposed lockdown that has led to widespread home working and increased use of remote services, but cautioned that operator revenues would inevitably be hit by closures of their retail outlets and postponed or delayed payments from companies that have halted their activities.
