CTIA calls for high-band spectrum for 5G

Thursday 16 June 2016 | 15:19 CET | News
US mobile industry lobby group CTIA has released a paper outlining why high-band spectrum, or bands above 6 GHz, is needed to support the move to 5G and meet demand for mobile data services. The CTIA said it and its members are advocating for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) "to take a bold and aggressive step this July by providing access to thousands of new MHz of spectrum in its Spectrum Frontiers proceeding". This would help the US remain a global leader in wireless technology and support economic growth in the country, it said.
