Cuba officially launches 3G mobile internet service

Cuba's state-owned telecommunications operator Etecsa confirmed that it finally activated a mobile internet service via the island's 3G network on 04 December. The launch is being rolled out over 3 days to avoid network congestion and follows a series of tests held over the past year, including a free mobile internet day held in August. Local portal Cibercuba said a number of 30-day plans are being made available, ranging from 600MB for the equivalent of USD, 1GB for USD 10, 2.5GB for USD 20 and 4GB for USD 30. The cost of out of bundle data is now USD 0.10 per MB, equivalent to USD 10 for
