Thursday 14 September 2017 | 11:44 CET | News
UK Culture Secretary Karen Bradley has officially confirmed her intention to refer the proposed takeover of Sky by 21st Century Fox to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) for a Phase 2 investigation on media plurality and genuine commitment to broadcasting standards grounds. In a statement to MPs, Bradley said that she would issue and publish the formal referral in the coming days. The CMA has 24 weeks, around six months, to investigate the merger and provide the Secretary with advice.
