CWC to use drones for post-hurricane network surveillance

Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) has announced trials of drone technology in Anguilla as a means of assessing tower and network damage in the aftermath of natural disasters such as a hurricane or a tropical storm. The company said the drones would undertake aerial surveillance of communications infrastructure following a storm, which would effectively eliminate the need for company personnel to conduct dangerous or risky tower climbs.
