Cyfrowy Polsat launches PolsatNet LTE service
Polish operator Cyfrowy Polsat has launched the PolsatNet wireless broadband service based on its HSPA+/LTE network. Monthly subscriptions range from PLN 29 for 3GB to PLN 99 for 25GB, with download speeds up to 100Mbps. Subscribers can access the service from 500 base stations built by the operators Mobyland and Centernet. Cyfrowy Polsat offers the Huawei E398 modem supporting both HSPA and LTE from PLN 1 with subscription agreements, as well as a range of other ZTE and Huawei USB modems and routers for HSPA access. The company has already been testing the LTE service for several months with a small group of customers and is now rolling out the service to the general public. Customers can test the service free for seven days. Polsat also offers a special offer for students, of 5GB for PLN 50 per month on a 12- or 24-month contract, plus 50GB free from midnight to 08.00hrs.

Polish satellite TV operator Cyfrowy Polsat reported that its subscribers base totaled 3.506 million at the end of September, up by 34,000 in the third quarter. Cyfrowy Polsat revenues, net profit up in Q2

Polish TV and internet provider Cyfrowy Polsat said net profit totaled PLN 69.48 million in the second quarter, up from PLN 66.99 million year-on-year. Revenues grew to PLN 628.4 million from PLN 368.26 million in the second quarter of 2010, due to the takeover of the TV broadcaster Telewizja Polsat. Cyfrowy Polsat to start LTE commercial services in September

Polish operator Cyfrowy Polsat announced that it is to conclude trials of its LTE services and will launch commercial operations from 01 September. The operator will offer a 200 MB data package for PLN 1 per month. There is also a 55 GB package for PLN 49 per month, under which 50 GB of the traffic must be used at night. The first six months' services are free under the 29-month-duration subscription agreement.

Solorz-Zak to spend Cyfrowy Polsat proceeds on LTE

The proceeds from the proposed sale of a stake in Polish operator Cyfrowy Polsat will be used for the construction of an LTE network, and not for the takeover of mobile operator Polkomtel, according to Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, the co-owner of Cyfrowy Polsat, reports Wirtualna Media. Solorz-Zak holds directly and indirectly 79 percent of Cyfrowy Polsat. He said separate funding has been arranged with banks to fund the Polkomtel deal, if his bid proves successful.

Cyfrowy Polsat prolongs LTE testing

Polish operator Cyfrowy Polsat increased the broadband speed to up to 100Mbps for subscribers testing its LTE service in the 1,800 MHz band. The higher speed is possible thanks to a doubling in the bandwidth to 20 HMz. The operator has also prolonged LTE testing until 31 August. Around 500 LTE base stations are currently operational across the country. Testing first started in March.

Polish operator Cyfrowy Polsat has refreshed the modem software for its subscribers testing LTE services. The new software increases the mobile broadband download capacity up to 100 Mbps from the current 73 Mbps threshold. The upload capacity will increase to 50 Mbps.

Polish operator Cyfrowy Polsat is starting consumer tests of its LTE broadband service. The company is offering 1,500 customers a three-month trial free. They will have 100GB a month to use, including 50GB during peak hours and 50GB from midnight to 08:00hrs, to use on the Speed 1000 modem designed for the operator by IP Wireless.
