D-Link, Roundbox develop LTE multicast dongle

D-Link, Roundbox and Altair Semiconductor announced the development of a LTE eMBMS-enabled HDMI dongle that is compatible with a leading US carrier's 4G network. The dongle gives consumers access to a wider range of online content by enabling wireless reception of HD video content over the LTE network. LTE's eMBMS (Evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service) standard allows the same content to be sent to many subscribers simultaneously. This dongle uses the Roundbox Services Platform and eMBMS middleware to provide a solution for launching applications and services leveraging LTE
