Danish consumer group complains over Google data collection

The Danish consumer rights group Taenk has filed a complaint against Google to the data protection regulator, saying the company violates EU law by storing customer information such as search history indefinitely. Taenk said it was not reasonable for Google to keep detailed personal information such as location data for so long and it created a risk of the data falling into the wrong hands. Taenk said it was not opposed to data collection or targeted marketing, and said in general Google is fairly transparent about the data it collects.
