Danish govt reminds public of maximum 6-month telecoms contract

Tuesday 11 December 2018 | 12:55 CET | News
The Danish Energy Authority has issued a reminder that the maximum tie-in period for a telecoms contract in Denmark is six months, adding that even an indirect tie-in of longer is prohibited. It said an indirect commitment means enticements such as an extra service like free music streaming for staying with the provider for more than six months. It said marketing may be done in such a way as to give the impression that there is an advantage to sticking with the provider after the commitment period has expired.
