Dell quarterly earnings fall 81%

Dell reported earnings for the fiscal quarter down 81 percent year-on-year to USD 0.07 per share. Revenues for the three months to 03 May fell 2 percent to USD 14.1 billion, and operating profit came in at USD 226 million or 1.6 percent of revenue. Enterprise revenues were up 10 percent to USD 3.1 billion on growth in servers and networking, and services revenues rose 2 percent to USD 2.1 billion. However revenues in the end-user computing segment fell 9 percent to USD 8.9 billion on the slowdown in the PC market. The company reported cash burn of USD 39 million in the quarter, while on a
