Deutsche Funkturm signs cooperation agreement with Cologne city council for network expansion

Deutsche Funkturm, the subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom responsible for building telecommunications infrastructure, said it will support the expansion of the network in Cologne. The company has signed a letter of intent to start cooperating with local utility company Stadtwerke Koeln, Rhein Energie, and NetCologne. The partners aim to promote expansion of mobile communications infrastructure in the urban area by using existing infrastructure such as buildings or lamp posts as locations for antennae.
