Deutsche Glasfaser, Vodafone to deliver fibre to Appenweier business park

Deutsche Glasfaser has announced the start of construction works to bring fibre-optic internet with speeds up to 10 Gbps to the industrial park and municipality of Appenweier in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. The company is currently laying conduits for fibre-optic cables and carrying out building inspections for the first phase of construction and expects the broadband roll-out will be completed by June 2018.

Appenweier is the first community in Baden-Wuerttemberg to benefit from the cooperation agreement Deutsche Glasfaser reached with Vodafone earlier this year to deliver broadband internet to industrial parks across Germany. Under the terms of this deal, Deutsche Glasfaser will construct the passive infrastructure while Vodafone will operate the active network equipment and provide services to companies.
