Deutsche Telekom and Hewlett Packard implement first Network Data Layer integrating VNFs

Deutsche Telekom and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) have implemented the world's first Network Data Layer (NDL) proof-of-concept that integrates various Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) from different vendors in a cloud infrastructure. Telekom deployed the NDL using HPE's Shared Data Environment (SDE), compliant with the Unified Data Layer principles specified by standardisation bodies. The NDL simplifies the creation of end-user services by exposing network capabilities to operator services and third-party applications, said HPE.
