Deutsche Telekom and Zeiss launch smart glass joint venture

Each partner will hold a 50 percent stake in the new company, which will be headquartered in the US and the city of Aalen, Germany. Tooz Technologies has assumed strategic and operational responsibility for the development of Zeiss's optical technology as well as the delay-free connectivity technology provided by Telekom, which will both be licensed to manufacturers of smart glasses, said Telekom. The partners have already developed specific applications with over 40 partners from industry, commerce and science as part of their developer program to better gauge customer requirements for smart
