Deutsche Telekom appoints 2 women to management board
Deutsche Telekom wants to appoint two women to its management board. Claudia Nemat is to take over the Europe Board department at the beginning of October, succeeding Guido Kerkhoff, who left to become CFO of Thyssen Krupp in April. Marion Schick will take over the Human Resources department from Thomas Sattelberger next year. She was the minister of Education and Cultural Affairs in Baden-Wuerttemberg. Nemat will be responsible for managing the Group's subsidiaries in Europe. In addition to Slovak Telekom (Slovakia) and T-Hrvatski Telekom (Croatia), these include the OTE group with companies in Greece, Romania, Albania and Bulgaria, and the Magyar Telekom Group in Hungary and its subsidiaries in Montenegro and Macedonia. Nemat is also responsible for mobile subsidiaries in the Netherlands, Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic, the stake in the Everything Everywhere joint venture in Great Britain and the international sales, service and marketing functions. On 4 July, German newspaper Handelsblatt wrote that Deutsche Telekom is also looking for a female replacement for Manfred Balz, who is director for legal and compliance with a contract until October 2012, but is expected to stop earlier.
