Deutsche Telekom close to cable TV deal with Sky - report

Deutsche Telekom is close to entering the cable TV market through an agreement with pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland, dpa has learned from unnamed company sources. Telekom is understood to have agreed a deal to feed Sky channels via its own infrastructure onto cable networks. Telekom will not directly service end customers. Potential partners will be primarily housing companies that will distribute the TV signals to households. Sky hopes to attract new subscribers through the agreement.
