Deutsche Telekom considers bid for HEG - report

Deutsche Telekom is considering a bid for web hosting provider Host Europe Group (HEG) as it looks to expand its cloud business, reports Reuters. Telekom plans to use web hosting subsidiary Strato to acquire HEG and is looking to team with US private equity companies to finance the deal, according to unnamed sources.

The investment firms examining a joint bid with Telekom reportedly include Blackstone and Hellman & Friedman. HEG is currently owned by private equity firm Cinven. Sources said that Cinven wants to launch a sales process before August and is targeting a valuation of around EUR 1.7 billion.

Makedonski Telekom H1 revenues up 1.1% to MKD 5.09 billion

Makedonski Telekom ended the first half of 2016 with net sales of MKD 5.09 billion, up 1.1 percent on the same period last year. According to the unaudited results, operating costs increased by 6.9 percent, while capex amounted to MDK 463 million. Net profits dropped 52.7 percent to MKD 259 million. Although revenues from fixed voice services decreased 10.6 percent year-on-year, Makedonski Telekom managed to maintain the leading position in this market segment with a 60.7 percent share.

Detusche Telekom overweegt een bod uit te brengen op webhosting-bedrijf Host Europe Group (HEG) om zodoende zijn cloud-activiteiten uit te breiden.
