Deutsche Telekom CEO Timotheus Hottges has promised bandwidths of up to 250 Mbps on the copper network by 2018 due to Super Vectoring technology. In a next step, top speeds of 500 Mbps are expected with G.fast, heise.de reports. In a video interview, Hottges said that speeds of 10 Gbps have been reached in Alcatel-Lucents Bell Lab tests with XG-fast. He did not disclose when G.fast would be introduced.
