Deutsche Telekom seeks EUR 600 mln EIB loan for broadband

Friday 26 June 2015 | 10:23 CET | News
The European Investment Bank (EIB) said that Deutsche Telekom has sought EIB financing for a capital investment project to expand high-speed broadband. The project concerns the second phase of the roll-out of a broadband access network at up to 100 Mbps in Germany, through increased fibre coverage combined with more advanced copper access technology. The objective is to increase the availability of fast connections for about 10 million households by 2016, representing a household coverage increase from 45 percent to 65 percent in Germany.
