Deutsche Telekom, Sky express concerns over Vodafone-Unitymedia merger at ANGA COM

Thursday 14 June 2018 | 15:41 CET | News
Vodafone's planned takeover of Liberty Global's Unitymedia cable assets in Germany has been criticised by Deutsche Telekom and other firms at the 2018 ANGA COM in Cologne, reported Heise Online. The head of Telekom's German business, Dirk Woessner, said the combined cable-TV firm would be so large that it would be able to demand feed-in tariffs from TV networks, in contrast to its competitors. Smaller competitors including Telekom, on the other hand will have to pay network providers for their content for offerings like T-Entertain, he added.
