Deutsche Telekom takes part in European research project on quantum technologies

Deutsche Telekom said it is taking part in a research project on quantum communication technologies. The project, which counts 38 partners, is being coordinated by the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology. Tests will be carried out in 16 locations in Vienna, Poznan, Madrid and Berlin. They will include the encryption of confidential data, high performance computing and protection for critical infrastructure. The goal of the OPENQKD  (Open European Quantum Key Distribution) consortium is to accelerate the development of quantum-safe data transmission and investigate various telecom-specific
