Deutsche Telekom tests solar power RAN integration with Ericsson

Deutsche Telekom said it is using solar energy to power commercial mobile broadband sites in Dittenheim, a village 100 miles north of Munich, in cooperation with Ericsson. It uses small solar modules with a total surface area of about 12 m2, and the Ericsson Power System is used for maximum power point tracking (MPP) and voltage conversion.
