Deutsche Telekom to cut 1,200 jobs in Germany - report

Deutsche Telekom plans to cut up to 1,200 jobs in Germany, reports German newspaper 'Handelsblatt' citing unnamed company sources. The job losses will be made across core areas such as marketing, controlling and administration, and will be completed by end-June. The company is targeting savings of around EUR 100 million a year through the cuts. It hopes to strengthen its operating business, where it aims to take on more workers for the expansion of its broadband and mobile internet services.
