Di Maio retains telecommunications brief in new Italian govt

The leader of the anti-establishment Five Star Movement (M5S), Luigi Di Maio, has confirmed that his department – the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) – will continue overseeing the telecommunications sector in the new Italian government. Di Maio was appointed head of the industry ministry, which now also encompasses the labour ministry, after the far-right Lega and M5S put aside their differences to form a populist government.
