Di Maio wants half-hour of free internet a day for all Italians

Wednesday 27 June 2018 | 09:43 CET | News
Italy's deputy prime minister and new industry and labour minister Luigi Di Maio has proposed that all citizens should have access to at least half an hour a day of free internet during an intervention in the Chamber of Deputies. "Internet connection is a primary right for every citizen. We are working to protect this right," said Di Maio, adding that the state needs to intervene and provide at least half an hour a day of free internet to those who can't afford it, without explaining the exact details of the proposal.
