Digi continues to expand network despite being left out of auction

Friday 4 October 2019 | 15:52 CET | News
Digi Hungary is continuing to expand its mobile network despite the fact that it wasn't admitted by local telecom authority NMHH to the 5G frequency auction, according to local publication Hwsw.hu. Although there is a strong chance that it won't have access to additional spectrum for years, Digi said it won't give up its plans for operating and expanding its mobile network in Hungary. Some industry sources say the expansion shows Digi's owner Dutch-based Digi Communications N.V. may look for an exit. Telenor Hungary is named as a potential buyer.
